The services we offer:

Theta Burst Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TBS) with Integrative health care package: Includes TBS for depression, Mindfulness with CBT components, acupuncture, nutritional and lifestyle recommendations as well as medication management supervision, the protocol is administered daily for up to 30 days.

Esketamine (Spravato) therapy for depression: Treatment for depression with the FDA approved medication protocol for Esketamine (Spravato).

Neuropsychiatric evaluations and consultations: We perform diagnostic evaluations and offer treatment alternatives for people with mental health issues, cognitive deficits (Alzheimer’s disease, ADHD), neuropsychiatric disorders, functional deficits after stroke or trauma, or psychosomatic disorders (medical problems that are not caused by, but are exacerbated by emotional factors including chronic pain, migraine, tensional headache, nicotine addiction, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease; as well as metabolic disorders that require help with behavioral modifications like obesity, diabetes and dyslipidemia).

Treatment with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for medication-resistant depression: Transcranial magnetic stimulation is performed by safely generating electrical activation or inhibition of specific areas of the patient’s brain using an external magnetic pulse that is applied over the scalp. In some way, rTMS produces the same or even better results than medications with much less side effects. The FDA has approved the use of rTMS for the treatment of depressive and/or obsessive compulsive patients that are nor responding well  enough, or are not able to tolerate antidepressant medication. Other applications that are not FDA approved are treatment of migraine, cognitive and motor rehabilitation after stroke or trauma, and mental health treatment during pregnancy.

Treatment with transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS)-Facilitated psychotherapy: This technique combines a mild form of brain stimulation which is thought to improve brain receptivity and adaptability, with psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral therapy and/or psychodynamic psychotherapy) for the treatment of emotional imbalances, Attention deficits, or psychosomatic disorders.

Electro-acupuncture: Electro-acupuncture is a therapeutic approach based on the combination of ancient traditional Chinese medicine with novel technology for brain stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation. This is particularly helpful for symptomatic treatment of chronic pain, migraine, tensional headache, anxiety, depression, nicotine addiction, and medical problems that are exacerbated by emotional factors including high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease; as well as metabolic disorders that require help with behavioral modifications (obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia).

Neurofeedback and biofeedback: This form of treatment uses technology to make the patient aware of dysfunctional automatic unconscious brain or body responses to environmental factors (associated for example to fear, anxiety, sadness or hopelessness) and facilitates the patient’s learning to control his/her own mind and subsequent symptomatology.

Mindfulness therapy: As an integrative medicine practice we promote strategies that help the mind to achieve balance, decrease stress, improve efficiency and control negative emotions. Our practice is oriented towards the “Zen” philosophy (“observing the mind”, “Observing the breath”)

The writer Derek Lin summarizes some Zen principles

  • Zen is more of an attitude than a belief.
  • Zen is the peace that comes from being one with an entity other than yourself.
  • Zen means being aware of your oneness with the world and everything in it.
  • Zen means living in the present and experiencing reality fully.
  • Zen means being free of the distractions and illusory conflicts of the material world.
  • Zen means being in the flow of the universe.
  • Zen means experiencing fully the present, and delighting in the basic miracle of life itself.
